Fall 2022 Yard Tree Giveaways

Thank you for your interest in planting trees in your neighborhood! Our Fall 2022 giveaway season is closed. But check back in soon to hear about opportunities in Spring 2022!

What is TreePhilly? TreePhilly is a joint program of Philadelphia Parks and Recreation and the Fairmount Park Conservancy that empowers Philadelphia community members to enrich life in their neighborhoods through the planting, care of and connection with trees. Founded in 2011, we work to reverse the city’s unequal and declining tree canopy by providing free, accessible yard trees and nurturing relationships between neighbors, institutions and the land we live on. In all our work, we strive to follow the principles and practices of environmental justice.

Trees are available for Philadelphia residents only and must be planted in the ground (not in a pot) on private property in the city of Philadelphia. Tree pick-up events and deliveries will be set up to protect against the spread of COVID-19. Pre-registering to request a tree is strongly encouraged.

How to Register for Free Yard Tree
Find a regional or neighborhood event below and follow the link or contact the community partner listed to register for your tree. Neighborhood events are intended for residents of the areas around the event and may have restrictions on who can sign up. You will be prompted to request the tree you’d like to receive as well as a “back-up choice”, a tree that would be acceptable if your first choice is not available. We will contact you the week before the event to confirm your request and provide additional details on how to pick up your tree.

Need Delivery or Planting Assistance?
Delivery is offered primarily for people who are not able to pick up a tree from an event, including elders and those without cars. We also offer home plantings for those who are unable to plant their tree or get help from a community member. You will have the option to sign up for these services on the registration form, or leave us a voicemail at 215-683-0217. Available while supplies last.
