Our city trees need extra care to make sure they are healthy. Make a difference in your neighborhood by caring for your trees. You are the key to helping them survive.
While all trees need the same care to survive, trees planted in different spots have to be cared for in different ways because trees are owned by different people and institutions. Ask: is the tree you are caring for a street tree or a yard tree? Click on the buttons below to learn about how to care for street trees or yard trees.

So what can you do for all trees?
You can water newly planted trees 15-20 gallons every week from March through December for the first two years. You can also add organic mulch to your tree every spring and fall to help it stay healthy. Philadelphia residents can get mulch for free at the Fairmount Park Organic Recycling Center.
