The
Martin Luther King Day of Service is on Monday, January 20th and here are a few ways you can get outside and volunteer for Philly’s trees and plants this year:
Historic Fair Hill – Spruce up the gardens at Historic Fair Hill, where abolitionists like Lucretia Mott are buried. End the day by enjoying a bonfire and singing Civil Rights anthems.
Tacony Creek Park – Head outside to Tacony Creek Park to work with the Tookany/Tacony-Frankford Watershed Partnership! The group will be removing invasive species in Bigham Meadow.
The Woodlands – Remove invasive species and debris from the grounds. Stick around after the event and tour the grounds to see the graves of famous Philadelphians, like painter Thomas Eakins.
