Progress in 2016

In 2016, TreePhilly welcomed a new sponsor, TD Bank, to our team. With their support, we gave away a total of 3,005 trees to 1,032 recipients at our city-wide yard tree giveaways plus an estimated 600 participants at community yard tree giveaways. That’s 22% more trees and 15% more participants than in 2015! We reached a record follow through rate of 70% in Spring 2016, which means seventy percent of people who pre-registered for a tree came to pick it up at the city-wide giveaways.

In the spring, we also launched the #PhillyTreeTrek, which detailed the travels of one little tree named Bud from nursery to forever home. We hosted a social media competition for Philly residents to win Bud and have Philadelphia Eagle Connor Barwin plant Bud in their yard. Congrats again to Sandy Vincenti! Bud sure is happy in your yard!
