COVID-19 Updates

Update: After incorporating some safety measures in response to COVID-19, TreePhilly is offering a limited number of yard trees for no-contact pick-up and delivery. You can learn how to register for a tree this spring on our Spring 2020 Yard Tree Giveaway Page.

Based on guidance from Philadelphia’s Department of Public Health regarding COVID-19, and out of an abundance of caution for our community members, TreePhilly has cancelled our Spring 2020 season of yard tree giveaway events. Although trees do so much for our health and well-being, we are currently more focused on the present health and safety of you and every community in Philadelphia during the COVID-19 pandemic.

TreePhilly is working on alternative plans to distribute trees this spring and hopes to be organizing in-person pick up events again by the fall if we are able to do so safely. There are currently no plans to offer a pick-up option for trees this spring, but please sign up for our email list to stay up to date on our plans. We will be sure to contact you the next time we are able to offer trees.

In the meantime, we hope that you will take care of yourselves, take care of your trees, and from a distance take care of your friends and neighbors. This is a great time to get out into your yard to care for your tree and appreciate the beauty of spring. For tips on maintaining your trees this spring, visit our tree care page and follow @TreePhilly on social media.
